Creating Wonderland

On Wednesday, December 19th, agents provocateur from the Fishbon Event Lab spent the evening putting finishing touches on the upcoming Fishbon Wonderland New Year's Eve event. Jon's elaborate 3-D UV reactive environment needed balls painted and loaded with buckshot, vials filled with UV paint, stages needed masking panels, curtains and pillows for new Hillaryland needed making and a host of other tasks needed doing.

Digital Snowstorms

On Wednesday, December 12, Fishbon Event Lab operatives tackled the seemingly impossible task of creating and filming a blizzard without snow in Southern California. But, being the highly resourceful team they are, they quickly seized upon Ethan's plan to resurrect their early childhood Paper Snowflake-Making skills and create a snowdrift of intricate white paper cutouts. That took care of the snow part. Now they needed only to convert them into a blizzard. With the help of a blower and expert snow god, Steve, the scene was set. Ethan then filmed the event from below, completing the magic transformation. Check out Ethan's finished video below.

Dance Cell Holiday Party

On December 7th, Fishbon Event Lab dance operatives held a holiday dance party at the Fishbon Pescadrome. Jim provided amazing visuals and Ronit added her usual excellent mix for an evening of dance madness.

Fishbon Skills-Papier Mache

On Wednesday, December 5, Fishbon Event Lab agents participated in Dominique's special Papier Mache Skills workshop. Using his Dragon Sculpture as an example, Dominique explained the techniques used for quality and durability. Non clay-based heavy duty vinyl wallpaper paste was judged to be the best adhesive and a combination of heavy brown paper shopping bags, newsprint and tissue paper the best materials. Strips should be hand ripped on all sides for best results.

Stilt School

After hours spent creating 14 pairs of stilts for the Fishbon Stilt Posse, height enhanced Fishbon Event Lab agents, gathered on Saturday December 1st for Dominique's patented Stilt School and Posse Boot Camp. Thanks to the superior coordination and balance skills of its members, the posse was able to be fully mobile in less than 10 minutes. With the addition of Paul's Stilt Bar to the Pescadrome. stilters will be in their glory at the Fishbon Wonderland event on New Year's Eve.

DEFENDEX World

On Wednesday, November 21, Fishbon Event Lab operatives gathered for a tutorial and hands-on experience or Mark David and John's amazing Defendex-ESPGX. Thanks to their generous gift, the project is now a permanent display at the Fishbon Pescadrome. The DEFENDEX-ESPGX is an interactive art object that combines real-time audio and video synthesis processing with physical interaction. The DEFENDEX-ESPGX is designed to simulate the look and feel of 1950's technology. The content draws on nostalgic reference to bring about implied comparisons between the fearful culture of the Cold War and the culture of fear associated with the current War on Terror. Followiing the presentation, agents were able to play in simulated environment.

DEFENDEX-ESPGX is a collaborative effort between MarkDavid Hosale and John Thompson.

Gameland Madness

On Wednesday, November 14th, Fishbon Event Lab agents were immersed in the latest Game Worlds with theatre-like projections and full club audio. With advances in both hardware and software, game developers have been able to greatly enhance the realism and gameplay of the most recent offerings and the results were impressive. Alex and crew demoed, Crysis, Battlefield 2 and lots of other amazing titles.

Spectrum Photography Fiesta

On Wednesday, November 7th, Fishbon Event Lab operatives gathered for Austin's special Spectrum Photography briefing. Not only were there amazing examples of Night Vision technologies used by the military, agents were treated to examples of images captured along the full range of the spectrum form infrared to ultraviolet. After the presentation, operatives were able to test cameras for themselves.
